Mike Kreder, Functional Genomics Coach, and Certified Nutrition Coach, is your go-to guide for customized healing, and personalized nutrition.
A Focus On : Long Haul, ME CFS, and Traumatic Brain Injuries
“I've been treating long COVID since the beginning and believe Mike Kreder understands the biochemistry of this disease (and ME CFS) better than anyone else out there. His ability to see this illness as a complex pathologic process with an encyclopedic knowledge of the published literature is astounding and will push the field further ahead. I enjoy working with him very much.” Stuart Malcom, M.D., RTHM.COM

Objective Clarity
Seeing your situation, issue, or data as it all truly is, based on facts and evidence, without allowing opinions, assumptions, or preconceived notions to influence my perception. I typically use over 100,000 data points of genetic data, over 2,500 specific lab markers, and over 500 qualitative inputs from my intake process. This helps me ‘see’ in ways many simply cannot. It is not simple, it is detailed, and time consuming. It produces clarity and deep insights. You will come to know your situation with a new level of understanding.
Integrity
An adherence to doing what is right, even in the face of challenges or what may not benefit me personally. A deep sense of accountability with myself and my clients. No financial ties to laboratories, supplement companies, or other practitioners. I do not offer free or discounted sessions for clients who ‘recommend me’. I do not mark up labs. I am un-entangled. Integrity: simple, direct, transparent, honest, and clear.
Precision
Delivering my work with a deep commitment to quality, thoroughness, and excellence. Details are considered in the appropriate context. I use the intersection of advanced labs, genetics, and a detailed intake process to focus in on root cause, as well as a providing comprehensive view of the factors in play. It is the intersection and cross validation of this approach that produces confidence in my understanding of your situation, and results in very specific sequencing and recommendations.
Personal
A highly individualized approach goes beyond general advice and transcends standard protocols to address the specific and unique aspects of each person’s health journey. Your plan is personal to you and only you. And it is developed personally by me, with my care, consideration, empathy, and my unique analytics and approach. I take it personally. It is from a place of lived experience in recovering from chronic illness. I do not take it lightly.
I’VE WALKED IN YOUR SHOES.
Hello, I’m Mike.
In addition to being a certified nutrition coach, functional genomics coach, and brain health specialist, I’m also a natural helper and gifted healer.
My work is focused on uncovering the root causes of chronic illness through personalized genetic analysis, advanced functional labs, and a thorough intake process. Having faced and overcome complex, misunderstood health challenges myself, I understand the physical, mental, and emotional toll they take. My healing own journey has equipped me a with lived experience of how best to support folks stuck in chronic illness to move forward.
My specialized training enables me to liberate my clients from the confusion in our current day systems that most find frustrating and draining emotionally and financially. I help them plot a new, more precise course for them to heal chronic illness and achieve optimal health. Most importantly, I teach others how to work with their unique genetics, physiology, and biology.

What my Clients Say
Frequently Asked Questions

For genetic tests, I can use what the client currently have, but if we are starting from scratch I prefer two kits that I use together. Your Genomic Resource kit, for $315, and 23andme (retails for $119). This gives me access to about 1,200 genes across 100,000 locations.
For lab tests, I commonly use : micronutrient panels, stool tests, organic acids, porphyrins test, Oxidative stress panels, toxin panels (mycotoxins, chemicals, heavy metals, forever chemicals). I also routinely do food sensitivity panels, neurotransmitter panels, hormone panels, neural antibody panels, immune and cytokine panels. Simpler ones like : methylation panels, lipid panels, iron/ferritin, homocysteine, CMP, CBC, are also used. These are all a mix of blood, urine, stool, and saliva.

Typically the first comprehensive appointment is 60-90 minutes, follow up appointments every 4 to 8 weeks that are usually 30-45 minutes.

I use a combination of a thorough intake process, symptomatology profile, genetics, and in-depth lab work.
I don’t view these elements separately – they are all integrated. I use quantitative data from various angles to understand the root causes of physiological dysfunction. For instance, if we imagine a physiological pathway with a dozen genes, and a lab marker somewhere in that pathway indicates dysfunction, we need to pinpoint where the issue is occurring and why. Almost every gene requires at least one cofactor (such as B6) to function properly. Without it, the gene cannot operate efficiently. Additionally, contaminants like heavy metals, mold, and chemicals can disrupt gene function. Understanding which contaminants affect which genes is critical.
Most genes can also be stimulated (upregulated) or inhibited (downregulated) by specific herbs. Knowing which herbs impact which genes allows us to create precise solutions for specific problems. I integrate lab results with patient intake (history, exposure, symptoms, helpful interventions, etc.) along with genetic data to get a comprehensive view of what’s happening physiologically. I triangulate this information from multiple perspectives.
Some pathway maps I use involve over 100 genes, including cofactors, connections, and contaminants. It’s a complex process, just like our physiology. Currently, I work with around 40 different pathway maps, ranging from simple (a dozen genes) to highly complex (100+ genes). Many of these pathways are interconnected, and my work focuses on teasing out the root causes of dysfunction, understanding where it begins, and why it occurs.
